1: We need better (and more) bathrooms.
You never know when you'll need a toilet! It's easier to go out when you can expect a comfortable bathroom experience.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Watch Jan’s video about how she chooses where to go when she’d like to get a drink with friends.

REFLECTION:
Consider the bathroom experience at a standard restaurant, bar, or other place that you are familiar with that is open to the public. Discuss how accessible this space is.
Which of the elements of an exceptionally accessible restroom (like the one pictured here) would you prioritize if you could add just one item to the space you’ve discussed?
An accessible restroom that includes standard grab bars, a place to set belongings, a sturdy non-wall-mounted toilet, a height adjustable sink, a tracking hoist system, adequate space overall, centrally placed toilet with room on either side for carers and drop down hand rails, a screen or curtain, a large waste bin for disposable pads, a non-slip floor. Not pictured here but also recommended: a height-adjustable changing bench with a tear-off roll of paper to cover the bench.
